Why become a Travel Club Board Member?

Becoming a CTC Board member is very important to the continuing growth of the club. Being a CTC Board member is a perfect fit for those who love to travel, plan trips and share comradery with those that share the same interests. The board always needs fresh ideas for the trips we plan. We also change leadership positions and need new people that can take over those leadership roles. Everyone working together strengthens our club.

How much personal time is required?

Each Board Member is expected to attend both the Board and General meetings. The Board meets on the first Tuesday of the month from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The General meetings are the first Thursday of the month from 4:00 pm to 5:00pm. Occasionally we may have a sub committee meeting.

Help at the General Meetings by passing out tickets or candy and setup. Each member will plan and Host and Co-Host a trip with another member. Support trips you aren’t hosting by attending when you can.

Are there any special skills required?

CTC Board members should have good organizational skills. Have an interest in planning trips and have the ability to communicate well with club members about upcoming trips in written communications and presentations. Computer skills are needed.

What does it take to ‘host’ a trip?

The host is involved with all aspects of a trip including:

● Work with the Board to determine and plan the trip

● Work with the Vice President who oversees all trips.

● Speak with venue contacts to determine the specifics of their venue.

● Develop a budget and itinerary and present to the Board prior to announcing the trip

● Announce the trip to the General Membership 2 months prior to the trip with a power point or video, specifics of the trip and trivia questions regarding the trip.

● All new board members will receive training and printed information on how to be a host.

You will have a say in what trips the Travel Club Board plans.

You will have a guaranteed place on the bus for any trip the Travel Club takes.

You will get to know the members better through the trips.

You will have affirmation that you are making a difference.

How Do I Become A Board Member?

If you are interested in becoming a Travel Club Board member, just contact any Board member. We replace outgoing Board members in October, or as necessary.
